Mississippi Governor’s School keeps lessons rolling for state teens
COLUMBUS, Miss. -- On the campus of Mississippi University for Women, 102 students from 98 different schools across the state have settled into Callaway and Grossnickle halls for Mississippi Governor’s School (MSG). This year will be the 30th year that MSG has been held on the MUW campus.
Every summer the three-week residential program is held to challenge rising 11th and 12th graders during which time they will complete academic and leadership based coursework during the day. The students will spend their weekends participating in community service projects that will be completed through different community agencies. This year’s session will end June 25.
The evenings at MSG are to be filled with trivia games, a talent show, mystery theater and other events to keep the teens occupied.
