MUW summer enrollment up
COLUMBUS, Miss. – Summer enrollment at Mississippi University for Women is up almost 17 percent.
As of June 7, a total of 1,165 students were enrolled--up 169 students from the same time last year.
“We are excited about this enrollment news,” said MUW President Claudia A. Limbert. “Not only are we providing our students with a quality education, we also are providing it in a highly personalized learning environment, which is made possible through the dedication of our faculty.”
Cassie Derden, MUW director of admissions, attributed the university’s success to a wide range of course delivery and flexible learning options.
“The work of faculty, staff and alumni is a great testimony to our team approach,” she said. “MUW is a great institution that continues to grow and many are jumping on board to take advantage of the excellent education MUW provides.”
Earlier this year, MUW received reinforcement from U.S. News & World Report for its dedication to teaching. The university appeared in the strong commitment to teaching category, landing at No. 7 among other Southern institutions including Elon, James Madison and Mercer universities.
The second term of summer school begins July 7. For more information, contact the Office of Admissions at 1-877-462-8439, ext. 7106, or visit www.muw.edu.
