MUW political science professor’s works are published
COLUMBUS, Miss. – Dr. James D. Ward, professor of political science and coordinator of the public administration certificate program at Mississippi University for Women, contributed a chapter in the 2010 publication of “Diversity and Public Administration: Theory, Issues, and Perspectives” ed. By Mitchell F. Rice. (M.E. Sharpe Publishers).
The chapter is titled Institutional Racism, Diversity and Public Administration and was co-authored with Dr. Mario Rivera of the University of New Mexico. It investigates institutional, cultural and organizational racism from macrolevels to microlevels of analysis.
He noted, “The research also explores the additional body literature concerning employment and recruitment networks at the middle levels of analysis, research that falls more squarely under the category of diversity practices.”
Ward is currently serving as co-editor for a special issue of the online periodical, The Innovation Journal: The Public Sector Innovation Journal, and is soliciting academic manuscripts on contemporary developments in ethics of public and private not-for-profit organizations.
