Amory resident to serve as president of M-OADN
COLUMBUS, Miss. -- Sarah Howell, assistant professor of nursing at Mississippi University for Women, will serve as the 2010-2012 president of the Mississippi Organization for Associate Degree Nursing.
M-OADN is a state organization primarily interested in working to retain the registered nurse title and scope of practice for the associate degree nurse.
As president, Howell will represent associate degree nursing at various meetings throughout the state and preside at all board meetings and convention of the organization. She will work with the executive board and other board members of M-OADN to promote associate degree nursing
Howell served as president-elect for 2009-2010 and as a board member at the state level and is currently serving as a member of the Awards and Scholarship Committee of the National Organization for Associate Degree Nursing.
At the M-OADN convention this year, she presented a continuing education offering for nurses titled, “The Surgical Patient on a Medical Floor.”
The Amory resident earned her associate’s and bachelor’s of nursing at MUW and her master’s of nursing at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She has worked at MUW for 32 years.
