Ruby named as interim vice president for student services at MUW
COLUMBUS, Miss. – Dr. Roy Ruby, who served as Mississippi State University’s vice president for student affairs for almost 18 years, has been named interim vice president for student services at Mississippi University for Women.
Ruby will be stepping into this role until a replacement is found for Dr. Bucky Wesley, who recently announced his departure for the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, where he will serve as vice chancellor for student success and enrollment management. Ruby’s first day at MUW will be June 1.
In addition to being vice president for student affairs, Ruby served as dean of the College of Education, and most recently, he came out of retirement to serve as MSU’s interim president for a brief stint.
“I look forward to helping MUW make this transition during a short period of time. My goal is to ensure that MUW’s student services’ functions continue to operate at a high level.”
Ruby and his wife, Patricia Randle Ruby, who is a 1962 graduate of MUW, reside in Starkville.
