Archie named Mississippi Miss Phi Beta Sigma 2010 at MUW
The Miss Phi Beta Sigma Scholarship Pageant was founded in 1973 and celebrates the accomplishments of young collegiate women.
COLUMBUS, Miss.– Cydney Archie, a student at Mississippi University for Women, was recently named Mississippi’s Miss Phi Beta Sigma for 2010.
“I really wanted to do something that I wouldn’t normally do,” said Archie, who competed against five other contestants, on campus. “I haven’t participated in a pageant since junior high.”
Archie, a native of Goshen Springs, is a sophomore communication studies major with a minor in business. She is a member of the Hearin Leadership Program, a W Rep and co-chair of the visual and performing arts Student Programming Board.
“I would encourage anyone to try, its lots of fun,” added Archie. “The scholarship money really helps out.”
