Biddy performs in New Stage Theatre `Boeing Boeing’

COLUMBUS, Miss.—William “Peppy” Biddy, chair of the department of music and theatre at Mississippi University for Women, will perform in the staged play, “Boeing Boeing” at New Stage Theatre in Jackson. The preview night was earlier this week, but performances will continue until Feb. 7.

Curtain times and dates for performances are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Sundays. Ticket prices can be purchased at the box office, located inside the Jane Reid Petty Theatre Center at 1100 Carlisle Street in the Belhaven neighborhood, charged by phone by calling the theatre at (601) 948-3531 or ordered online at www.newstagetheatre.com.
           
“Boeing Boeing” is a classic farce written by French playwright Marc Camoletti. It was translated into English and staged in London at the Apollo Theatre in 1962 and at the Comedy Theatre in 2007. The 2008 Broadway revival at Longacre Theatre won the Tony Award for the Best Revival of a Play and Best Leading Actor. 
           
The cast of “Boeing Boeing” includes Peppy as Robert, Bill Jenkins as Bernard, Ali Dinkins as Gloria, Jessica Wilkinson as Gretchen, Emily Wright as Gabriella and Jo Ann Robinson as Bertha.

            David Carter, assistant professor in the MUW College of Arts and Sciences, designed the set.
