Nursing professor to speak at conference
COLUMBUS, Miss. – Mary Jo Kirkpatrick, nursing professor at Mississippi University for Women, will be speaking at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement Conference in Orlando, Fla., which will be held Dec. 6-9.
Kirkpatrick’s presentation, “The Bottom Line Refined: Engaging Your Board in Quality and Patient Safety,” is about engaging the Methodist Le Bonheur Board of Directors in the focus of quality and patient safety.
She is the department chair of the Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program and has been teaching at MUW for 34 years.
In other nursing news, Sarah Howell recently spoke at the North Mississippi Medical Center’s annual Medical-Surgical Conference in Tupelo. The title of the presentation was "The Surgical Patient on the Medical Floor," which was about post-operative nursing care.
Howell has taught at MUW for more 31 years. She is an assistant professor of nursing and the freshman level coordinator of the ASN program.
