MUW faculty member given business award
COLUMBUS, Miss. – Dr. Dee Larson, associate professor of management and marketing at Mississippi University for Women, has been named Entrepreneurial Educator of the Year by the Women’s Center for Entrepreneurship.
The award is a first, recognizing the extraordinary efforts of an individual, according to Lucy Betcher, director of the Women’s Center for Entrepreneurship.
“I’m happy that my passion inspires others. I was both surprised and thrilled to receive such an honor. It really does mean a lot,” said Larson.
Dr. Larson teaches courses in principles of marketing, consumer behavior, retail management, marketing management, sales management and integrated marketing communications.
“She has enthusiastically embraced any request we’ve made of her and her efforts have personified the most ideal mutual benefit that can be derived from the co-location of a small business advocacy agency and university,” said Betcher. “She provides real-world practical learning experiences for her students that will set them well ahead of their contemporaries when they enter their chosen careers.”
