White wins top honors at International Miss Phi Beta Sigma pageant
COLUMBUS, Miss. – Mississippi University for Women senior Keidria White placed first runner-up in the International Miss Phi Beta Sigma pageant July 9 in New Orleans, La. She was named Miss Photogenic and Most Spirited at the competition where she competed against six other contestants representing regions across the nation.
White won the title of MUW’s Miss Phi Beta Sigma earlier this year and went on to win the state and regional titles that qualified her for the international competition.
A native of Grenada, she is a senior paralegal studies major and a member of the Coretta Social Club.
“I would encourage anyone to try anything once,” said White of her pageant experience. “You never know what opportunities might come your way.”
White will continue her reign as Southern Regional Miss Phi Beta Sigma and crown next year’s queen at the pageant in Florida.
“This whole experience has given me so many opportunities and I am truly blessed to have been a part of the Phi Beta Sigma family,” said White.
The Miss Phi Beta Sigma Scholarship Pageant was founded in 1973, and celebrates the accomplishments of young collegiate women.
