Two more campus offices recognized by Secret Shopper program
COLUMBUS, Miss. - Two more campus offices have earned recognition as part of the new Secret Shopper program.
Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Sandra Jordan and Student Government Association executive board members Ryan Sims and Christian S. Ewing recently presented certificates and “above and beyond” lapel pins to the comptroller’s office and department of sciences and mathematics.
Comptroller Tonya Moak said. “This award was a very nice surprise,
and it let our staff know that their efforts to give students a positive
campus experience is working and is something we should always strive to do.”
Dr. Dorothy Kerzel, department chair, added. “I am pleased that the
department received the award. It’s always nice to receive
acknowledgment for doing a good job and ultimately helping students is why we are here.”
Members of SGA worked with Dr. Jordan to create a score card to be used by the students who participated as “secret shoppers.” The students visited offices around campus and conducted business as usual, but after an office visit they completed the score card and submitted it to SGA.
The information was collected and evaluated and SGA selected the
offices that would receive recognition for outstanding service.
Criterion included treating customers with respect, providing accurate
information or referrals and serving visitors in a timely manner.
