MUW recognized by SACUBO
COLUMBUS, Miss. - Mississippi University for Women recently received the Southern Association for College and University Business Officers (SACUBO) Outstanding Drive-In Workshop for 2008.
The award was presented to MUW in appreciation for its outstanding volunteer contributions to the SACUBO effort to provide affordable and local professional development.
Nora Miller, MUW vice president for finance and administration, accepted the award on behalf of Angela Jones, assistant to the vice president for finance and administration, in November at a Savannah, Ga., workshop.
Planning includes completing the brochure, staying in contact with presenters to meet their needs (travel, equipment, presentation materials, etc.), handling the registration process, informing registrants of pertinent information, compiling packets for registrants, etc.
Jones has coordinated four workshops and is currently planning a fifth session, which is scheduled for Feb. 5-6 at The Inn at the University of Mississippi. The workshop is titled Managing the Risks Associated with Occupation Fraud and Abuse, Accounting Updates and Strategic Resource Allocation. The fee for the workshop is $125 ($140 if received after Jan. 20), and the deadline to sign up for the workshop is Jan. 30. For more details, contact Jones at (662) 329-7145 or email ajones@vpfa.muw.edu.
