CHAMPS Project to host conference
COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Mississippi University for Women CHAMPS (Creating High Achievement in Mathematics and Problem Solving) project will host its second CHAMPS Super Saturday Workshop Nov. 8, in Room 120 of the Education and Human Science Building.
The workshop will feature Alan and Sue Schuler from Muggins Math and their hands-on mathematics manipulatives demonstrations.
Each participating teacher will receive $150 in classroom games and manipulatives. Approximately 0.5 CEU credits are available for a $20 fee. There are 75 spaces available and the project has received more than 100 applications thus far.
The CHAMPS Project works to improve teacher quality in 17 high needs districts located in Northeast Mississippi by providing a comprehensive program of professional development.
