Sodexo facilities division celebrates 118,000 labor hours without an incident
COLUMBUS, Miss. - One hundred and eighteen thousand is a big number-- especially when it involves safety on the job.
On Tuesday, the facilities division of Sodexo at Mississippi University for Women, which includes 55 employees, celebrated 118,000 labor hours without an accident.
The employees were treated to a barbecue luncheon as well as many door prizes including a flat screen television.
“You’ve all heard me talk about safety,” said Sam Wise, Sodexo director of facilities and area general manager. “It is so important to all of us.”
Al Allen, president of Sodexo education facilities North America, echoed the importance of safety.
“We spend as much time on the job as anywhere else. It’s all of our obligations to work safely. What you do is very important for the students, parents, faculty and staff. Quite often when a parent comes to school they see you first. You all are goodwill ambassadors.”
Sodexo, Inc. is the leading provider of integrated food and facilities management services in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, serving 10 million customers in 6,000 locations every day.
