MUW taps Gooden for assistant director of alumni relations

COLUMBUS, Miss. – Lisa Gooden has been chosen to serve as the new assistant director of Alumni Relations at Mississippi University for Women. She will begin on July 28.

Gooden previously served as a recruiting coordinator at the University of Mississippi Career Center, where she coordinated all on-campus recruiting activities serving as liaison between student job seekers and employers, as well as advised corporate and organizational representatives on marketing strategies to improve their recruiting activities at the university.

Gooden also taught a career and life planning class and helped students at the university find internship opportunities.

She served as the coordinator of victim services and volunteer programs at Family Crisis Services of Northwest Mississippi Inc. from May 2004 to April 2005.

From August 2001 to March 2004, Gooden held the title of assistant director of alumni affairs for advancement at the University of Mississippi’s Department of Alumni Affairs. While in the position, she helped organize special events and business meetings for the various alumni groups and helped raise over $300,000 for several scholarship endowments.

Gooden received her master of arts in Higher Education/Student Personnel Services from the University of Mississippi in 2006, and her bachelor of arts in English and Psychology in 2001.
