Summer enrollment up at MUW
COLUMBUS, Miss. – Summer enrollment at Mississippi
University for
Women is up 9.3 percent. Enrollment as of Tuesday
was 938 compared to
858 the same time last year.
Dr. Bucky Wesley, vice president for student
services, said, “This is
a continuing trend of upward enrollment. These
numbers also exhibit
strength and continued health of the university.”
MUW has experienced consistent enrollment growth
over the past few
years with fall enrollment being up 6.3 percent and
spring enrollment up
2.8 percent.
Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine recently
ranked MUW 54 of the
100 best values in public colleges across America.
In addition, U.S.News
& World Report consistently ranks MUW among the top
Southern public
master’s universities.
MUW President Claudia A. Limbert said, “MUW’s secret
is getting
out, and that is good news. These accomplishments

work ethic and dedication of so many faculty, staff,
students, alumni
and community supporters.”
