Summer enrollment up at MUW

COLUMBUS, Miss. – Summer enrollment at Mississippi University for
Women is up 9.3 percent. Enrollment as of Tuesday was 938 compared to
858 the same time last year.

Dr. Bucky Wesley, vice president for student services, said, “This is
a continuing trend of upward enrollment. These numbers also exhibit
strength and continued health of the university.”

MUW has experienced consistent enrollment growth over the past few
years with fall enrollment being up 6.3 percent and spring enrollment up
2.8 percent.

Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine recently ranked MUW 54 of the
100 best values in public colleges across America. In addition, U.S.News
& World Report consistently ranks MUW among the top Southern public
master’s universities.

MUW President Claudia A. Limbert said, “MUW’s secret is getting
out, and that is good news. These accomplishments reflect the tremendous
work ethic and dedication of so many faculty, staff, students, alumni
and community supporters.”
