Sciences
COLUMBUS, Miss. – Dr. Hal Jenkins has been named
dean of the College of Education and Human Sciences.
Prior to the announcement, Jenkins served as the
interim dean.
Jenkins said, “I look forward to continuing to work
with the extraordinary breadth and depth of talent
within this college to grow our programs in teacher
education and the human sciences. We will continue
to stress our emphasis on quality and practical
experience in real world settings.”
MUW President Claudia A. Limbert said of Jenkins,
“We look forward to what the future will bring under
his fine leadership.”
Jenkins said his goals for this semester include
securing approval for licensure from the Mississippi
Department of Education for the new master’s degree
in educational leadership. If all goes well, the
program could be offered as early as the upcoming
fall semester.
He joined MUW in 1999 as a professor of education.
