Miller hired as new director of financial aid
COLUMBUS, Miss. – Mississippi University for Women
has hired Dan Miller to serve as director of
financial aid. Since January 2003, Miller has held
the position of senior director of financial aid at
Auburn University at Montgomery.
Miller has more than 30 years of financial aid
experience. He served as financial aid director at
Southwest Tennessee Community College (Shelby State
Community College) from June 1999 to January 2003.
He has been awarded the Shelby State Outstanding
Service Award and was also named Outstanding
Financial Aid Administrator by the Tennessee
Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators.
Miller served as president of the Tennessee
Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators
from 1981-1982. From 1985-1986, he served as the
president of the Southern Association of Student
Financial Aid Administrators.
“We feel fortunate to have attracted a new director
with such extensive experience,” said Dr. Bucky
Wesley, vice president for student services.
He will officially begin on Jan. 3, but will visit
campus this month to help prepare for the spring
semester.
