Nawrocki’s artwork included in various shows
COLUMBUS,
Miss. – Dr. Thomas Nawrocki, professor of art at
Mississippi University for Women, recently had some of
his artwork displayed at various shows and competitions
across the country.
During the
spring and summer of 2006, his work was on display at
several exhibits across the state and nation. At the
Meridian Museum of Art, his work was shown at the 33rd
Annual Bi-State Art Competition and at the 15th
Annual People’s Choice Art Competition. His work also
was displayed at a group exhibition at the Southside Art
Gallery in Oxford.
This month and
in September he will have work displayed at the National
Print Exhibition “Ink and Idea,” hosted by the
University of Judaism in Los Angeles, Calif., and at
“Sun and Shadow” Juried Print Exhibition sponsored by
the Los Angeles Printmaking Society at the Tang Gallery
in Bisbee, Ariz.
Beginning in
September and continuing through the end of the year,
Nawrocki’s work will be shown at several other galleries
and exhibits around the country. These shows include
“Music as Muse” at the International Print and Paper
Exhibition in Somerville, N.J.; “Forging Connections,”
the Mid America Print Council Members Juried Exhibition
at Ohio University and “Continuum 5(0)” at the Peck
School of Arts at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Nawrocki has been a
professor at MUW for more than 36 years and has
experience in printmaking, fiber arts and design. He was
honored with the Visual Arts Award from the Mississippi
Institute of Arts and Letters in June 2006.
