Foster receives $1,000 grant to attend CUPA-HR conference
COLUMBUS, Miss. – Sharon Foster, Mississippi University for
Women human resources specialist, was chosen from the
southern region to receive a $1,000 grant to attend the
College and University Professional Association for Human
Resources (CUPA-HR) regional conference in New Orleans in
March.
The grant will cover Foster’s registration cost and other
expenses.
A letter to Foster from Andy Brantley, CUPA-HR chief
executive officer, noted an incredible response to the
conference grant applications this year. “We are most
pleased to provide you with the opportunity to participate
in one of the Associations’ premier professional development
programs.”
Foster, who has been with MUW more than two years, thanked
Human Resources Director Melanie Freeman, who encouraged her
to apply for the grant.
Founded in 1946, CUPA-HR now serves more than 7,300 human
resource professionals at nearly 1,600 colleges and
universities as well as others interested in the advancement
of human resources in higher education, including students
and human resource service providers.
