MUW’s Ogle works with famed chef at NASCAR event
COLUMBUS, Miss. -- Erich Ogle, Mississippi University for
Women Culinary Arts Institute chef instructor, recently
assisted famed Chef Mario Batali at the Talladega NASCAR
event.
Ogle, a South West Virginia native, began teaching at MUW in
August of 2005.
Dr. Jim Fitzgerald, director of MUW’s Culinary Arts
Institute, said, “Working with a food superstar like Mario
Batali says a lot about the caliber of faculty that we have
at MUW because not everyone can do that gig. Of course it is
a great opportunity for professional development for Chef
Erich and a chance for Mario to learn even more about our
unique culinary program.”
Batali is an owner of several restaurants, as well as a wine
shop in New York City, an author of four books and hosts two
shows on the Food Network, “Molto Mario” and “Ciao America.”
He also has received numerous accolades, such as the 2001
D’Artagnan Cervena Who’s Who of Food & Beverage in America,
a prestigious lifetime achievement award.
