Combs to lecture on history and underwater
archaeology
COLUMBUS, Miss. – Dr. Edwin Combs III, visiting
assistant professor of history at Mississippi
University for Women, will discuss history and
underwater archaeology on Saturday, April 29 in
Elizabeth City, N.C.
Combs was invited to give one of two lectures in
the Elizabeth Vann Moore Biennial Series for
Preservation Studies.
He is the author of many articles on the history
of southern shipbuilding and trade and is active
in underwater archaeological recovery in North
Carolina.
Combs has been awarded various honors, including
an Andrew Mellon Fellowship.
