MUW faculty participate in noteworthy events
COLUMBUS, Miss – The following Mississippi University for
Women faculty will participate in events related to their
fields of study:
Dr. Willard Peveler, assistant professor of health and
kinesiology, was invited to participate in the Oxford Round
Table in Oxford England. He is attending this event through
April 7.
According to the Oxford Round Table’s website,
www.oxfordroundtable.co.uk, “the purpose of the Oxford
Round Table is to promote human advancement and
understanding through the improvement of education.” It
provides a forum for the study and consideration of current
issues facing state and national systems of education.
A small select group of people from both private and public
sectors across the world meet periodically. The individuals
are identified through screening processes ranging from
previous involvement or recommendations of actively involved
persons in higher education and public school leadership.
Dr. Martin L. Hatton, chair of the Department of
Communication and associate professor, will present a paper
at the 2006 Southern States Communication Association 76th
annual convention in Dallas on April 7.
The paper, titled “Testing Motivating Influences in the
Production of First-Person and Third-Person Perceptions,”
was selected by the Communication Theory Division of SSCA
for presentation.
