MUW to host Art Saturday at The W on April 8
COLUMBUS, Miss. – Mississippi University for
Women’s Visual Arts Outreach Program will host
Art Saturday at The W on April 8. Events will be
held in Shattuck Hall and outside the Education
and Human Sciences Building.
Activities beginning at 9 a.m. outside the
education building will include an origami
workshop and a photography scavenger hunt in
Shattuck Hall. The gallery talk will begin at 11
a.m. followed by a children’s drop-in workshop
from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., both in Shattuck Hall. A
quilter also will demonstrate and talk about
quilting at 3 p.m. in the gallery.
Art Saturday at The W will be held in
conjunction with the art exhibition, “Journey of
the Spirit: The Art of Gwendolyn A. Magee.” This
will be the last day to view this exhibit.
The Creativity Extravaganza, hosted by the Roger
F. Wicker Center for Creative Learning, will
also be held on Saturday, April 8.
