Davidson secures funding for Advanced Education Nursing Traineeship

COLUMBUS, Miss. -- Dr. Janice Unruh Davidson, chair and professor of the Department of Graduate Nursing at Mississippi University for Women, has been awarded a $40,456 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration for the 2005-2006 fiscal year.

Funding from this grant will be used for her Advanced Education Nursing Traineeship's project to assist graduate students studying to be family or pediatric nurse practitioners. 

Davidson said, "It gives me great pleasure to be instrumental in garnering funds for graduate students at Mississippi University for Women. This is the third award at MUW in which I have been involved, and I was delighted to see that it has increased each year we have been funded."

The federal funds awarded brings Davidson’s total career dollars secured to $316,578 in academic grants and external funding.
