MUW police chief to attend FBI Command College
COLUMBUS, Miss. – Mississippi University for Women
Police Chief Calvin Sellers was selected as one of the
charter participants in Mississippi’s first FBI Command
College.
He will fill one of only 30 open slots for law
enforcement officials from Mississippi. Louisiana, which
will also participate in the program, was only given 10
slots.
Sellers said he was honored to be selected given the
small number of available openings.
The FBI Command College is an executive training program
for law enforcement leaders. It will have a classroom
setting and several seminars led by members of the FBI
Academy and the FBI Jackson branch.
As part of the selection process, Sellers had to fill
out an application and write a letter explaining why it
was beneficial for him to be involved.
“I think it will be benefit me and the campus by
building relationships with other law enforcement
officials, but also building relationships with the
FBI,” he said.
The program runs from July 31 to Aug. 5.
