MUW graduate nursing program achieves perfection for
third year in a row
COLUMBUS, Miss. -- A repeat of a perfect performance is
hard to achieve.
Yet perfection is becoming the standard for Mississippi
University for Women’s Division of Nursing graduate
program.
For the third year in a row, students achieved a 100
percent success rate on the American Nurses
Credentialing Center (ANCC) national board certification
exam for nurse practitioners.
“We did it again this year,” said Dr. Janice Unruh
Davidson, graduate nursing program director. “Over the
last three years in a row, the graduates have surpassed
the national average of 87 percent in 2002, 85 percent
in 2003 and 88 percent in 2004 by achieving a 100
percent pass rate for each testing period.
“We are so proud of the graduate nursing students and
their continued success in this national board
certification exam.”
Successful completion of a national board certification
such as the exam offered by the ANCC is required for
nurses planning to practice as a nurse practitioner in
Mississippi.
