MUW Office of Career Services to host health services
fair
COLUMBUS, Miss. -- Mississippi University for Women
students will have an opportunity to visit with
prospective employers during a health services fair on
Tuesday, March 15.
Previously the fair was called nursing career fair and
was only open to nursing students, however, this year
the name was changed and the event was expanded to
include students majoring in nursing, health and
kinesiology, sciences and students interested in pursing
a career in the health services industry.
The purpose of the fair is for students and prospective
employers to discuss career opportunities and key skills
employers look for in candidates seeking employment.
According to Theresa Green-Ervin, MUW Office of Career
Services director, their office has worked extremely
hard to get quality organizations and make this fair
beneficial for both the students and prospective
employers.
To assist with this effort, a reception is being held on
Monday, March 14 for graduate students in the Master of
Science in Nursing Program. This reception will include
organizations that will also attend the fair on Tuesday.
Students and recruiters will have an opportunity to talk
in an informal setting.
Fifteen organizations from Alabama, Mississippi and
Tennessee will participate this year.
The organizations are Baptist Health Systems, Brookwood
Medical Center, DCH Health System, Forrest General
Hospital, Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center,
Mississippi Department of Health, Mississippi Hospital
Association, North Mississippi Medical Center, North
Mississippi State Hospital, St. Dominic Hospital, United
States Army, Central Mississippi Medical Center,
Regional Medical Center at Memphis (The Med), Oktibbeha
County Hospital and UAB Hospital. The fair will be held
from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Pope Banquet Room.
