Spring enrollment up at MUW
COLUMBUS, Miss. – Spring enrollment is up 6.16 percent at Mississippi University for Women.
The trend is a continuation of the growth MUW experienced in the fall, according to Dr. Bucky Wesley, vice president for student services.
MUW President Claudia Limbert said, “We are excited about this enrollment news. This reinforces MUW’s commitment to deliver a highly personalized learning environment, made possible through the dedication of our faculty.”
Dr. Bridget Pieschel, head of the Division of Humanities, added, “I am really pleased about how strong our enrollment is both in core classes and in our upper level major classes.”
MUW offers more than 50 majors including business, education and nursing. In addition, there are educational opportunities in a wide range of signature programs from culinary arts to music therapy.
Currently U.S.News & World Report ranks MUW the No. 3 best value among Southern Master’s universities. It is the eighth time in 11 years that MUW has been ranked a best value or best buy. MUW also is the 67th best value among the top 100 public colleges in America, according to Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine.
