Enrollment up at MUW
COLUMBUS, Miss. – Enrollment is up significantly at Mississippi University for Women.
The count as of the first day of class on Monday was 2,255, which exceeds the final 10-day count of 2,063 in fall 2003, representing an 9.31 percent increase.
“We are excited about this enrollment news,” said MUW President Claudia Limbert. “I think this increase reflects on MUW’s commitment to deliver a highly personalized learning environment, made possible through the dedication of our faculty.”
Dr. Bucky Wesley, vice president for student services, added, “We are pleased with the overall growth of the institution. We are particularly excited about the growth of the freshman class which appears to be about 17 percent above the final count from last year.”

MUW was ranked the third best value among Southern Master’s universities. It is the eighth time in 11 years that MUW has been ranked a best value or best buy.
In addition, to being the highest ranked best value in Mississippi, MUW was the No. 10 top public Southern Master’s university.
