Harlan nominated for awards in his field of teaching

COLUMBUS, Miss. -- Eric Harlan, communication instructor and communication technology coordinator at Mississippi University for Women, recently was nominated for numerous awards for personal achievement in his field of teaching.

The Governing Board of Editors of the American Biographical Institute announced Harlan’s nomination for the prestigious title of “Man Of The Year-2004” in July.

The ABI’s International Board of Research decided on Harlan’s nomination “due to [his] overall accomplishments and contributions to society.”

The ABI also recognized Harlan for inclusion in The Contemporary Who’s Who of Professionals.

Nominations for both honors are received from businesses and acknowledged organizations throughout the world.

Harlan also was notified of his selection as an honored member of Madison Who’s Who, as a “way of recognizing [his] individual achievement in [his] field.”

He said, “Being listed among all of the other honorees puts me in some pretty dignified company. When I received word of my inclusion, I was greatly humbled and honored to be asked to add my name to the list of other honorees.”

Harlan has taught in MUW’s Division of Business and Communication since 1991.
