MUW student selected as 2004 College Art Student

COLUMBUS, Miss. -- The Mississippi State Committee for the National Museum of Women in the Arts selected Mississippi University for Women graphic design student Elizabeth Ladner of Picayune as the 2004 College Art Student.

Her artwork, “Ringed Tail Lemur,” was displayed at the MSC-NMWA meeting in January at the Pass Christian Yacht Club and at the MSC Showcase 2004 at Delta State University in Cleveland.
As part of this recognition, Ladner will receive a one-year membership to the NMWA together with its quarterly magazine, Women in the Arts.

Ladner and her mother will be guest to a luncheon on Aug. 3 at the Governor’s Mansion. At the luncheon, she will receive a certificate of recognition as the 2004 College Art Student.

The MSC for the NMWA was formed in 1998. Mississippi’s committee was the 21st of 28 state organizations.

The NMWA is the only museum in the world dedicated to recognizing contributions of women artists. For more information, email http://www.nmwa.org.
