COLUMBUS, Miss. – Mississippi University for Women’s Office of Continuing
Education will host MainEvent 2004 on Thursday, April 15.
MainEvent is an annual multimedia program that delivers the world’s top
business leaders to companies and colleges around the world.
Participants in this program will actively engage in life-enhancing and
company-changing dialogue with speakers via satellite.
“We are very excited to get a chance to hear messages from global
leaders. They share great information that reaches out to the
community,” said Patricia Brock, director of continuing education.
Topics to be discussed include “Individual Values: Their Impact on
Decisions about Work, Culture, and Brands,” “Hype, Heresy, History or
Here to Stay…is "Values-Driven Business' an Oxymoron?” “Yoga in the
Workplace? From Work, Work, Work to Mind, Body, Bliss: Global Trend or
Wishful Thinking?” “Innovation: Snaring the Bright Ideas in a
Commoditized World. What’s Next? What’s Possible?” and "The Global
Paradox: Creating Community When No One’s ‘Home.’”
Forum speakers will include the director of the U.S. Mint, CEO of Mmakau
Mining, dean of the London Business School, vice chair of Wonder, Inc.,
president of The Energy Project, vice president from Johnson & Johnson,
CEO of Patagonia Inc., co-founder of Stone Yamashita Partner; chief
diversity officer of Accenture, president of Women’s World Banking and
CEO of LesConcierges.
Workshops will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Cromwell Communication
Center. The complete program fee is $28, which includes lunch. Any
