vice president and CFO to speak at MUW
COLUMBUS, Miss. -- Linda Burket, executive vice president and chief
financial officer of American Eurocopter LLC, will talk about the
changing roles of women in corporate leadership at Mississippi
University for Women on Thursday, March 25.
The women’s leadership forum will be held at 6 p.m. in Nissan Auditorium
of Parkinson Hall.
American Eurocopter is the American affiliate of Eurocopter, the largest
helicopter manufacture in the world.
Burket has been employed by American Eurocopter LLC for 14 years in
various capacities and currently manages finance, risk management,
information systems, human resources and contract management. She
travels and works extensively internationally with her European
counterparts of Eurocopter and European Aeronautic Defense and Space
Company (EADS).
In June 2003, she was selected by EADS as one of 100 women to be honored
at the Paris Air Show for her contributions to the aerospace industry.
She was the only American selected for this distinguished honor.
Burket holds a BBA from the University of Texas, an MBA from the
University of Dallas and is a CPA. A native of Texas, she currently
resides in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
As part of the forum, MUW will award its first Woman of the Year Award
to Ricki Rayner Garrett, a 1973 alumna and member of the Board of
Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning.
An IHL Board member since 1992, Garrett earned a bachelor’s degree in
English from MUW and a master’s degree in English from the University of
Mississippi in 1974. She has taught on both the higher education and
secondary levels.
The forum is one of a series of events MUW is hosting to celebrate
Women’s History Month. The events are open to the public.
