Students’ artwork to be featured at MUW

COLUMBUS, Miss. - An art exhibit featuring the work of MUW art majors will be on display at Mississippi University for Women’s Art Gallery in Shattuck Hall.

The exhibit begins Thursday, Feb.12 and will run through Tuesday, Feb.24 with a reception to be held on Thursday, Feb.12, at 6:30 p.m.

Gallery Director Alex Stelioes-Wills said he is very excited about the show.

Stelioes-Wills hopes the exhibit will provide students with four objectives. First, provide an educational goal of having students artwork displayed in a gallery. Second, to instill a certain level of professionalism within the students. Third, to have art majors experience the feeling of seeing their own work displayed. In the end, he hopes the exhibit will generate excitement and competition among students.

MUW President Claudia Limbert will present awards to the top three finishers.

For more information about this exhibit, please contact the Division of Fine and Performing Arts at (662) 329-7341.
