host nursing career fair
COLUMBUS, Miss – Mississippi University for Women students will have an
opportunity to visit with prospective employers during a nursing career
fair on Thursday, Feb. 12.
The purpose of the nursing career fair is for students and prospective
employers to discuss career opportunities and key skills employers look
for in candidates seeking employment.
“I am really excited about this year’s fair,” said Theresa Green Ervin,
director of career services. “The Office of Career Services has worked
extremely hard to get quality organizations and make this fair
beneficial for both the students and prospective employers.”
Seventeen organizations from Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee and
Minnesota will participate this year. This is a 60 percent increase from
last year’s event, according to Ervin.
They are Aurora Australis Lodge, Baptist Health Systems, Baptist
Memorial Healthcare Corporation, Baptist Memorial Healthcare-Columbus,
Baptist Princeton, Oktibbeha County Hospital, Central MS Medical Center,
Mississippi State Department of Health, DCH Health System, Forrest
General Hospital, Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center, North MS
Medical Center, River Oaks Health Center, St. Vincent’s Hospital, The
Med-Memphis and UAB. In addition, the Mayo Clinic out of Minnesota will
visit the campus for the first time.
The fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Hogarth Banquet Room
West.
