MUW Division of Fine and Performing Arts to host board-certified art therapist
 

COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Division of Fine and Performing Arts at Mississippi University for Women will host Tina Montagna-Tate, a board-certified art therapist from Philadelphia, Pa.

She will give a presentation titled “Introduction to Art Therapy” on Thursday, Feb. 19 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Shattuck Hall Art Gallery. A reception will follow the event.

Montagna-Tate will host two art therapy workshops on Friday, Feb. 20, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The workshops will be held in Shattuck Hall and require that reservations be made in advance.

Montagna-Tate received her masters in art therapy from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia. She is a registered, board-certified art therapist, as well as a licensed professional counselor.

Currently, she maintains a private practice in Ardmore, Pa., and is an adjunct instructor at Drexel University’s Hahnemann Creative Arts in Therapy program, where she instructs and supervises graduate students.
