MUW assistant professor in national competitive exhibition
 

COLUMBUS, Miss. – Mississippi University for Women Assistant Professor Shawn L. Dickey recently competed in Prints U.S.A. 2003, a national competitive exhibition at the Springfield Art Museum in Missouri.

Dickey’s artwork was selected for the Friends of the Springfield Art Museum Purchase for the Museum Collection. The screenprint (dimensional) triptych, “Divine Fox,” also was selected for a $500 cash award.

Prints U.S.A. 2003 was created to recognize and encourage printmaking in the United States and its possessions.

Jane Glaubinger, curator of prints at The Cleveland Museum of Art judged the competition. Seven hundred and three entries by 244 arts from 44 states were submitted for consideration. Eighty-two works were selected
for the exhibition.
