MUW to hold recognition ceremony for December graduatesCOLUMBUS,
Miss. -- Mississippi University for Women will have a recognition
ceremony for December graduates on Friday, Dec. 12 at 5 p.m. in Rent
Auditorium of Whitfield Hall. In a very personalized ceremony, students
will be given the opportunity to speak for one minute in order to
recognize family members, faculty, staff or friends who have helped them
achieve their academic goals. MUW President Claudia Limbert said, “The
December Graduates’ Recognition Ceremony was created because our students
requested it. We are looking forward to honoring the December graduates
for reaching such an
important milestone in their lives. We hope that this event will become a
tradition on campus.” In the past, December graduates have returned to
campus in May to participate in commencement exercises with their class.
December graduates also will be able to participate in the May ceremony
because regalia will not be worn for the December ceremony. A reception
will follow the ceremony. All students and their families are invited to
attend.
