MUW nursing faculty receive recognition

COLUMBUS, Miss. -- Mississippi University for Women Interim Division of  Nursing head Mary Jo Kirkpatrick recently had her work published in a pharmacology textbook titled "Study Guide to Accompany Clinical Drug
Therapy.”

Prior to Kirkpatrick's publication, she did a review for the "Clinical Drug Therapy" textbook.

"It was very time consuming and hard to do. The proofing and rewriting  were intense and demanding. There were so many deadlines. Once it was over I couldn't believe it. It was very rewarding to see my name on the
book and it made all the hard work worthwhile,” Kirkpatrick said.

Also receiving recognition in the Division of Nursing was Dr. Mary Pat Curtis, retired adjunct professor of the research component of the baccalaureate program.

She was recognized as a National Health Service Corps ambassador for the MUW campus.

Ambassadors volunteer their time by providing career guidance to  students who wish to pursue a career in primary care. They are available to recommend students to the National Health Service Corps scholarship
program.
