MUW’s career services director receives noteworthy
honors
COLUMBUS, Miss. -- Theresa Green Ervin, director of career services at
Mississippi University for Women, has been appointed to a professional
development board and recognized as a young Mississippi leader.
Ervin was appointed to the Mississippi Association of Colleges and
Employers (MACE) board in the position of director of information
technology and marketing. She will produce a quarterly newsletter,
submitting news to the Southeastern Association of Colleges and Employers
and maintain the organization’s web site.
MACE is composed of career service professionals from two and four year
colleges and universities and employers who are involved in the
recruitment of students for cooperative education and full-time career
opportunities. The mission of MACE is to build a greater understanding and
cooperation between colleges, universities and employers in their combined
placement efforts, to foster professional development and to promote high
standards of ethical practices.
Ervin also was selected as one of the outstanding young Mississippians
to participate in Leadership Mississippi. This is a program that seeks to
identify and train Mississippi’s young business and professional leaders
and to involve them in improving Mississippians quality of life.
In November, she will join Cedrick Gathings, assistant director of
residence life, to facilitate a presentation titled “Taking Inventory of
Your Toolbox: Strategies for Managing Your Career” at the annual Southern
Association for College Student Affairs Conference, which will be held in
Myrtle Beach, S.C. |
