MUW's paralegal studies program recognized by
Paralegal 100
COLUMBUS, Miss. -- Mississippi University for Women's paralegal program
was recognized on the Paralegal 100 web site as one of the best paralegal
schools in the United States.
John Kramer, vice president of LawTV Inc., said the programs were
selected by “speaking to attorneys throughout the United States and asking
them which schools produced the best paralegals at their firms.”
Professor H. J. Davidson, Jr., director of paralegal studies at The W,
said, "I feel it is well deserved. We have worked hard to exceed the
standards set by the ABA (American Bar Association) for approval, and we
offer a first class education. Our record of success of employment of our
students has been good.”
The Paralegal 100 has been published since 2001 and is an affiliate of
ParalegalBookstore.com and
ParalegalNews.com.
Kramer said, “The objective (of Paralegal 100) is to make news and
information readily available about paralegals and paralegal schools,
primarily for college and high school graduates considering a paralegal
career.”
Starting in 1979, MUW’s paralegal studies program went on to become
Mississippi’s first ABA approved program. The program offers a four-year
baccalaureate degree in paralegal studies.
The program's professors include six lawyers and one professor with a
master's in computer technology. The two full-time professors are Davidson
and David A. Smith. The adjunct professors, who are lawyers, are Steve
McEwen, Jeannie Sansing, Armstrong Walters and Rebecca Younger. Julie B.
Jordan has a master's degree in computer technology. |
