MUW Wesley Foundation to celebrate 75 years of ministry

COLUMBUS, Miss. -- The Mississippi University for Women Wesley Foundation will celebrate 75 years of United Methodist campus ministry with a rally, Saturday Sept. 20.

The rally will include a meal and entertainment from local churches and Wesley students. Tickets may be purchased from the Wesley Foundation for $5. The event will be held at First United Methodist Church of Columbus in the Fletcher-Jones building at 6 p.m.

The Wesley Foundation is a ministry of the Mississippi Conference and United Methodist Church. College students find opportunities to grow in their relationship with God through worship, bible study and mission experiences.

Although the Mississippi Conference provides annual support, the Wesley Foundation relies on individual donations to meet its yearly budget. In the last year, weekly donations have allowed students to participate in a mission trip to North Carolina, Lowndes County Mission Blitz, a statewide Wesley retreat and other activities. Wesley Foundation students also support local churches by providing leadership at youth retreats and in worship at special events.

For more information, please contact Wesley Foundation Director Gail Griffith at (662) 328-1998 or email at wfm@muw.edu.
