COLUMBUS, Miss. -- Mississippi University for Women added 23 new
faculty members this fall.
“The twenty-three new faculty members come to us with impressive
credentials and backgrounds,” said Dr. Sheila Adams, interim provost and
vice president for academic affairs. “We welcome them as they join ranks
with our current group of outstanding faculty.”
New in the Division of Business and Communication are Linnea K. Hall,
instructor in MIS, and Randy T. Stewart, visiting instructor in business.
Chef Walter Scott McKenzie has joined the faculty at the Culinary Arts
Institute as a chef instructor. Joining the Division of Education and
Human Sciences are Dr. Jennifer Kay Halfacre, assistant professor of
education; Dr. Joan Primeaux, assistant professor of education; and Dr.
Angela S. Raines, assistant professor of reading, Barksdale Reading
Institute.
Dr. Beverly A. Joyce, assistant professor of art, and Alexander
Stelioes-Wills, assistant professor of art, are new to the Division of
Fine and Performing Arts.
New to the Division of Humanities are Dr. Patricia B. Dennis, assistant
professor of social sciences education; Dr. Jack J. Miller, assistant
professor of political science and philosophy; and Dr. Kenneth W. Vickers,
assistant professor of history.
There are seven new faculty members in the Division of Nursing. They
are Marci S. Boswell, instructor in nursing (ASN); Heather D.
Carter-Templeton, instructor in nursing (BSN); Dr. Janice U. Davidson,
professor of nursing and director of the MSN Program; Melissa C. Dodson,
instructor in nursing (MSN); Julie S. Jones, instructor in nursing (ASN);
Jennifer McIntyre, instructor in nursing (ASN); and Pamela D. Thomas,
instructor in nursing (ASN).
Dr. Lauren D. Brandon, assistant professor of microbiology and Emma
Sadler Moss chairholder; Willard E. Collier, instructor in chemistry; Dr.
Amina Elbehti, assistant professor of microbiology; and Dr. Eddie A.
Estalote, instructor in physics, have joined the Division of Science and
Mathematics.
New to the library faculty is Cathy S. Young, coordinator of
information literacy programs/reference services and instructor in library
services.
