MainEvent 2003 is coming to MUW
COLUMBUS, Miss. -- Mississippi University for Women's Office of
Continuing Education will hold MainEvent 2003 on Thursday, April 10.
MainEvent is an annual multimedia program that delivers the world's top
business leaders to companies and colleges around the world. Participants
in this program will actively engage in life-enhancing and
company-changing dialogue with speakers via satellite.
"We really wanted to bring something of a global level to campus to get
both men and women of the community involved," said Patricia Brock,
director of continuing education.
Topics to be discussed include New Strategies for Igniting Innovation,
Distributing the Equilibrium of the Past: Winning Strategies for Life in
Challenging Times, The Ultimate Paradox: Becoming More Adaptable in Order
to be Resilient, Making Global and Local Work Both Personally and
Professionally and Is Ethical Business an Oxymoron? How Should Business be
Done?
Forum speakers will include Steve Ballmer, Microsoft CEO; Margot
Cairnes, Change Dynamic CEO; Carla Cico, Brasil Telecom CEO; Maxine Clark,
founder and chief Executive Bear of Build-A-Bear; Esther Dyson, chairman
of EDventure Holdings; Joe Forehand, Accenture CEO; Jamie Gorelick, vice
chair of Fannie Mae; General James Jones, US Marine Corps Commandant;
Ellen Kullman, Dupont Group vice president; Mary Minnick, Coca Cola Asia
Group president and COO; Luciano Respini, Dow Europe president; Yakako
Uchinaga, IBM Japan's managing director and Theodore Zedlin, dean of St.
Anthony's College and Oxford University author.
Workshops will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Cromwell Communication
Center. The cost is $25, which includes morning refreshments and lunch.
