COLUMBUS, Miss. -- Spring fever is spinning its way into Mississippi
University for Women with the Student Programming Board's annual Spring
Fling.
Wild Wild West Spring Fling 2003 activities will include a Modeling
Squad show on the steps of Poindexter Hall on Monday, April 7 at 8 p.m.
and Casino Night and karaoke in Hogarth W Room on Tuesday, April 8 at 8
p.m. On Wednesday, April 9, Bull Bustin' will be in front of McDevitt Hall
from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and a giant screen viewing of "Catch Me if You Can"
on Shattuck Lawn at 8 p.m.
The highlight of the week will be a performance by rap artist Petey
Pablo and special guest Southern Kaos on Thursday, April 10. "Raise Up,"
Pablo's Grammy-nominated song, topped the charts in 2001. The concert,
which is free and open to the public, will begin at 8 p.m. on Shattuck
Lawn and in case of rain will be held in Whitfield Hall.
Student Programming Board Director Natella Boulton said R & B strikes
the interest of the population. "We always try to experiment with
different genres of music, and when we do an event of this size, we want
someone the public can identify with."
Joe Lowder, assistant director of student life and Student Programming
Board advisor is excited about this year's activities. "You can't say
there isn't anything going on at The W this week."
