Spring break packets and car inspections available
for MUW students
COLUMBUS, Miss., -- Mississippi University for Women students are
eagerly awaiting spring break, March 10 through March 14.
After weeks of late night study sessions and project deadlines, many
students will head for the beaches to soak up the warm sun and sand while
others will just take time to relax at home and catch up on lost sleep.
However they choose to spend their vacation, the MUW Office of Student
Affairs office along with AmeriCorps Campus Link and the Counseling &
Testing Services want it to be safe.
Spring break packets, containing helpful safety tips, and car
inspections will be available Thursday, March 6 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in
Hogarth Student Center to help ensure an enjoyable and stress-free week of
fun.
The spring break packets will contain information on drinking
responsibly, how to maintain proper hydration, excessive sun exposure,
travel tips, safe sex and proper weight loss as well as pencils, magnets
and other spring break supplies.
"We want to educate the students on how to have a safe spring break
because we hope that they will enjoy the week and return to campus safe
and healthy," said MUW Counseling & Testing Services Director Linda
Halbert.
Mechanics from Premier Ford Lincoln Mercury will be in front of Hogarth
Student Center to conduct basic car inspections free of charge before
students begin traveling to their spring break destinations. Packets also
will be available for students in the AmeriCorps Campus Link office after
Thursday. |
