MUW to host McDevitt Scholars' Day Feb. 15

COLUMBUS, Miss.--More than 100 community college and high school students are expected to attend Mississippi University for Women's annual McDevitt Scholars' Day on Saturday, Feb. 15.

The event is a chance for prospective students to visit MUW and see the academic and social opportunities available to them.

Katy Canion, coordinator of community college recruitment at MUW, said the purpose of the event is "to bring the top community college students to campus to compete for our top scholarships. It's also an opportunity for high school students who were unable to attend Scholars' Day to compete for scholarships."

Prospective students will participate in scholarship interviews, as well as view academic and campus organization displays, tour campus, take part in financial aid sessions and enjoy musical entertainment.

Canion expects students from Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana and Tennessee to attend this event.

For more information about McDevitt Scholars' Day, contact the Office of Admissions at 1-877-462-8439, ext. 7103 or (662) 329-7106.
