Seney to host 2005 World Conference
COLUMBUS, Miss. -- Dr. Bob Seney, professor of gifted studies at
Mississippi University for Women, has accepted the privilege to host the
2005 World Conference, which will be held in New Orleans at the Hyatt
Regency Hotel on Aug. 1-5, 2005.
The World Conference is held every two years. This year's event will
take place in Adelaide, Australia.
Seney said, "I am really excited about hosting this conference. I have
been active with the World Conference since 1985 and have attended and
presented at every conference since then. I am happy to give back to an
organization that is making an impact on the education of the children of
the world."
He will serve as chairman of the leadership committee that will plan
and host the conference. The leadership committee will be made up of
leaders from various organizations such as the Mississippi Association for
Gifted Children, the Louisiana Association for the Gifted, the Texas
Association for the Gifted and Talented and United States members of the
World Council.
Seney's honor was announced by Dr. Klaus Urban, University of Hamburg,
Germany, and president of the World Council for Gifted Children.
Between 1,200 and 1,500 delegates from over the world are expected to
attend the 2005 World Conference. |
