MUW registration Jan. 6 COLUMBUS, Miss. -- Registration for the spring semester at Mississippi University for Women will be held Monday, Jan. 6 in McDevitt Hall. Registration will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and students should attend at their designated time. Students unable to attend at their designated time may register through Tuesday, Jan. 14 with payment of a late fee. Day and evening classes will begin Tuesday, Jan. 7. This fall MUW was recognized by two highly respected publications for its quality academic programs and cost. Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine ranked the university 69 of 100 best public colleges in America. U.S. News & World Report ranked MUW the best value among all Southern master's universities. It is the sixth time in nine years that The W has been ranked a best value or best buy. In addition to being a No. 1 best value, The W was ranked eighth among best public universities in the Southern master's category. During the fall, new first-time, full-time freshmen enrollment also was up 36 percent. The W offers 51 majors and concentrations at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
